In case you are not aware, the European Union (EU) will be implementing tighter privacy protections for online users that reside within the EU. In May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will be going into effect. This means any company marketing to any users located within the EU will have to comply with the guidelines outlined in the GDPR.
Now I have to preference as recommended in several articles about this topic, you will want to consult legal council before you implement anything.
Essentially, with GDPR, you will have to get transparent and concise consent when getting EU residents data that you may use for internal or marketing purposes. The GDPR also requires organizations to provide as much information about the data they do have if they get any inquiries from EU residents.
